Six-course course instruction learning Italian, using engaging cultural videos and fun language exercises to help you recognize and learn Italian grammar, vocabulary, and regional cultures. Embedded in each cultural lesson of each Italian course, from 101 to 202, is a touch of history, art, film, and media from the beautiful regions of Italy. With each learning module, you will gain confidence as you learn to recognize and identify how grammar works (whether in Italian or English!), as well as how to use important vocabulary and expressions – all this with an experienced college professor who has designed and led curriculum in American universities and study abroad programs in Italy since 2009. Topics can be personalized, with various lessons being geared toward your unique interests in culture, research, or travel. Ample suggestions for how to fare una bella figure (literally, “to make a beautiful face,” that is, to make a good impression) on new Italian friends. Learn to speak the bella lingua (the “beautiful language”) with a professor who is passionate about helping you feel comfortable to try new sounds and to help as you boost neural pathways in your brain! Six-course course instruction learning French. This series of twenty language modules features original engaging cultural videos and fun language exercises to help you recognize patterns and learn French grammar and vocabulary. From the metropolis of Paris to the outre-mer departments of diverse French-speaking cultures, from Western Africa to Northern Africa, from Québec to Switzerland, French is spoken by an estimated 300 million people and is the de jure official language of 26 countries. Thus, embedded in each cultural lesson of each Italian course, from 101 to 202, is a touch of history, art, film, and media from the beautiful cultures of Francophonie. With each learning module, you will gain confidence as you learn to identify how grammar works (whether in French or English!) and try on a new accent, as well as how to use important vocabulary and expressions – all this with an experienced French PhD (Emory 2009) and former college professor who has designed and taught French curriculum in American universities since 2002. Topics may be tailored to you, with various lessons being geared toward your personal, unique interests in culture, literature, history, geography, or travel.
